Tsumori Chisato is one of my best loved designers, she manages to inject 101 facets to each collection, with a fiesta of whimsical prints and vibrant colours and style. A quick lineage, for those of you who don’t know her, Tsumori Chisato studied at Tokyo’s Bunka College and worked for Issey Miyake before starting her own brand in the 1990s.

For A/W 2009-2010, Tsumori Chisato is showing us the skies and skylines as she sees them. Her inspiration comes from the views from her windows and as seen in the Australian skies. Her collection is a feast of Rounded collars, oversized capes and shapes that unfold in the shape of the half-moon came in colourful prints and adorned with sparkling sequins and manga styled. Circus inspired elements also featured heavily, making this collection one of the most fun and energetic. Some may feel there are too many elements applied in one collection, but this is one of the expects that appeal to my inner hyena. I can concentrate on one aspect of the outfits or look at it as a whole. I can never tire looking at this collection, it has so many dynamics to it.
