Styles of the Season

Autumn is a beautiful time of year and after a long summer (or short depending on which part of the world you call home) it can be nice to dust off the overcoats and scarves and welcome those deep reds and browns so synonymous with autumn fashion.

Of course, each year has its unique additions and this season's looks set to become the champion of the oversize bag and coat with a little bit of tartan for a splash of colour. Fake fur and leather jackets will also be donned alongside a military presence signalling 2013's ubiquitous unisex androgynous look.

All of these styles and more can be found at London Fashion Week AW13 which brings you the very best in style from the British Capital. Be sure to take a look at the turtle necks and capes which made a big hit on the catwalk and are a welcome addition to any winter wardrobe.

Timeless in Tartan

Of course, the changing fashions are often a little fickle so it is always worth keeping a timeless timepiece at hand to enhance this season's look with a staple-piece that has a touch of chic and elegance. There is no better way to do this than with a vintage Cartier or Harry Winston watch that brings that tartan skirt to life. Those looking for something a little less feminine might try a Girard Perregaux or Rolex Cellini to really complement those military boots so good at keeping out the rain.

Whichever watch you decide upon, you can spend a little "quality time” searching through the beautiful range of Omega, Rolex, and Cartier watches here. Ensure your style retains that element of timelessness by complimenting it with a unique piece of jewellery designed to enhance any women’s beauty.

Blog Design Revamp

25 Aug 2013

Do you by any chance recognize the above header ? it was a long. . . while back now, this was my very first blog header. I must have gone through countless of fonts and a cargo full of shades of color. after gazillion attempts i felt the above was the least cumbrous of ones darnedest attempts. i did. . and still use Photoshop in a self taught manner, with a experimental trial and error method, I've always had very little patience, to Google Photoshop tutorials, i never seem to retain the new techniques on Photoshop. i wanted to take a little hop down blogger memory lane, before I chat about my pending blog design re-vamp.

The last blog revamp was over a year ago, I was so very nearly tempted to go for the look above, but in the end I opted to change it for a lighter color scheme that i have today. I am never completely satisfied with my blog makeovers, do you ever feel the same way ? I was nearly enticed to order a customized template, but i would have felt defeated had I not coded and designed the blog myself, it would have also felt a tad impersonal.

Logo Designs

Older Logo Designs - I have a whole slew of early logos sketches clogging up my computer, most, that I'm glad never saw the light of day, but for some reason I can't get myself to send them to the rubbish bin because those early sketches brings nostalgia, and hopefully the rawness of the images can still provide some sort of stimulus for future designs. I may create an online poll/vote on here to help me pick the next Guilty Hyena logo.

So what next ? I had initially planned to continue my blog posts right through August whilst simultaneously tinkering around with the blog revamp, but my HTML is a little rusty. I hope to atone for the lack of posting in September, which I have penciled in as my blog re-vamp deadline, eeek!

September is always a busy month, the wait for new season pieces are finally over, blame New York Fashion Week, followed by London, Milan, and Paris. I'm on a pants for women crusade, autumn/fall is around the corner and I'm addicted to peg leg pants, joggers and trousers. I'm looking forward to blogging about new season pieces.

Hope to get my blog mojo back on in September!

Reiss Spring Summer Sale

3 Jul 2013

Wedding season is in full swing, and don't I just know it, 2013 has been in particular a chock-a-block calendar full of weddings and engagements however this summer I'll be squeezing in two separate wedding events in one day, luckily the venue of the events are located 30 minutes apart. I'm usually sorted for wedding guest outfits but some of them are getting a little snug for my comfort eeeek! Yup I blame it on the numerous BBQ's, though It's probably a blessing as I could do with freshening up the wedding guest outfits. I've been searching for pastel colored outfits and a more structured tailored look and came across Reiss, who have a large summer sale happening right now.

Whilst I was browsing on Reiss, I chanced upon the women's Reiss 1971 collection, the new nineteen seventy one collection from Reiss for SS13. I have to admit I never payed much attention to the edgier sub brand before, but a few of the pieces ticked the box for what I was looking for and I was also drawn to the  everyday apparel too.

I'm loving quilted pieces on everything right now, whether that maybe on shorts trousers or tops and the Dijon quilted sweatshirt is top of my wishlist, ideal for the confused weather we have right now. I wanted to get my hands on the Reiss Grafton Mini Lock Across Body Bag for some time now, but it's sold out everywhere, it's the white + chrome and the fabric that does it for me, I hope that on the minuscule off chance it could appear on ebay, but I'm not holding my breath for it.

Speaking of weddings, being of Asian descent, Asian weddings are immensely exhausting, usually it's a three day marathon affair filled with rituals and searching for an outfit for these occasions are a serious pain in the butt! but if ever there's a reason to get dressed up, it is a wedding. To my readers from the U.S have a smashin 4th of July. X

Tasty Things No.7 : Wimbledon

1 Jul 2013

For the game of lawn tennis there’s no better symbol than Wimbledon, I was super buzzed about 2013's Grand Slam and what it would entail. Note, I follow tennis all year round but it's that tad more special when it's a home slam.

It's safe to say that so far Wimbledon has been nothing short of surprises, I'm an affable supporter of Rafa Nadal, and it was a huge blow to see him out at the 1st round and along the way many top seeds have been knocked out, which personally, diminishes my excitement but nevertheless I'm rooting for Andy Murray. If you're not into the tennis malarkey? ... patisseries, finger sandwiches and strawberries, served with tea or champagne, will get you into the spirit !!
