Elena Burenina Spring Summer Collection 2011

25 Oct 2010

BLUE CARROTS....SQUARE WATERMELONS

GLOWING CUCUMBERS....DOLLY THE SHEEP

This weird and wonderful collection by Elena Burenina is apt for the looming Hallows Eve and fright night 2010. But beyond its eccentric kooky styled collection is a insightful deeply perceptive view on the current development of up-to-date biotechnologies, cloning and genetically modified world, where the creator of this collection Elena feels, "over-optimistic futurologists believe that growing a new human being or a human organ will soon be as easy as farming carrots".
I got to admit what I find pretty spooky is the thought of munching on food and milk that is from cloned animal offspring. Apparently the EU are seriously currently considering this, which I strongly oppose. Right then, moving on swiftly before it starts turning into some agricultural farming post. *-*
This edgy collection was shown during the Ukraine S/S Fashion Week 2011, To see more from this collection you can delve further for some more

Sou Brette - Unknown Waters New Collection

17 Oct 2010

UNDERWATER KINGDOM OF FAIRYTALES

Sou Brette's Muqliza Imroni has knocked it dead once again, with her new collection called unknown waters. I'm becoming a complete aficionado of the Jakarta based designer, bringing a more feminine, down in the indigo depths of the sea of naga, bubbled pearls of the fairy tales reminding me of the Indonesian tropical waters. While watching the 1953 Alexandr Ptushko film "Sadko", Sou Brette's Muqliza Imroni was thoroughly inspired and awed by the golden touch of its incredibly imaginative coloring, splendid characters, and breathtaking portraiture of the underwater kingdom. She wanted to create a collection drawn solely from the imagery of an underwater fairytale.

Unknown Waters contributes a softer, more organic form to Sou Brette's usual tough, geometric-shaped jewelry. Crystal clear resin filled with faux pearl inlays, ropes dressed in textured marble print cotton in colors representing an underwater realm; have all been carefully chosen to create an honest and personal dream-like collection.

AMMUNITION FOR WOMEN
For every round of ammunition, comes devastation and destruction, but it would seem that's not the case with BulletGirl, unless you wanna cause devastating ripple of consequences in the world of accessories. I would probably have to start calling myself Rambo, if I wore more than one of these accessories all at once ¬ I would need to restrain myself. BulletGirl get loaded!

Feel Good Treats- Misguided Splash Nails

The narrative moves rather sluggishly, that narrative being moi over the past two weeks. I've never really shared with you my enthusiasm towards organic health products. Sadly my enthusiasm for such items is not shared by my purse strings. Buying organic chemical free items is time consuming and pricey, so I always look to what I have in the fridge and kitchen, items such as honey, ginger, lemon and tumeric for home-made concoctions. The only problem is, it can sometimes get messy and whoever is in the kitchen is normally shoving me out of the way to make room to bake.
Trying on the MissChievous Vibrant Coral
I've been known to have ample's of enthusiasm for creating my own pharmacon lair in the home, until the daily grind digs in and its tick tock, and it has been this way since I fell stagnant and so I've decided to take things one footprint slower and treat myself inside and out, with some wheat-grass and krill oil and some good old home-cooking, banning any ready meals and feeding some massage oils for the skin. And perfect timing! I was entreated by Misguided womens fashion, to try out their new nail polish range called 'Misguided Splash', and it positively helps to feel good on the inside if you feel good on the outside.

But do you know what I was mostly satisfied about? was that these nail polish range are all Formaldehyde and Toluene free! Formaldehyde can cause irritation of the skin, eyes, nose, and throat and may also cause asthma, and so it has none of those toxic element's, proving to be a good pick me up to banish my blues. Here's hoping more beauty industries take the same initiative.

ENDURING FROM A FORM OF MALADAY
Very short post today, I'm drooping over what I call a peculiar bug over the past week, which has made me slightly lethargic with fever, and drowsiness. No idea what it was but I'm past the worst of it. I'll update on here once, the nurturing accessories, shoes and raiment's are back to the forefront of my mind. :-~) Hope you folks all had a frolic weekend and a Happy Monday! No need to leave a comment, I don't deserve the sympathy :-) Although maybe the cute Teddy below does.
