Cross and Ring Metal hardware Bag

18 Jun 2013

I may need to dissuade my frivolous needs to buy another handbag. Handbags are THE prime reason why I'm always misplacing my items, the crane that is my hand is always rummaging and transferring Purse ; Debit Cards : ID : Keys : Phone and Makeup etc to another handbag that compliments my mood, outfit and whim on the day.

Lickety-split forthwith   I lusted over the cross and ring metal hardware clasp on this bag, it slightly reminded me of the Givenchy Obsedia bag with the cross and ring clasp WITHOUT it being a fraction of the cost.

I discovered it at my fave online store 11st, a reputable Korean marketplace where there's literally thousands and thousands of items, you will need patience but Boy does it pay off!! because there are so many gems to discover and the price is much CHEAPER than what you may get at Romwe , Choies , Sheinside or Oasap.

Sports Luxe Shoe Wedge

4 Jun 2013

My aching feet and paws usually drag across floors, making toilsome work of it. I think most of you would agree that the trainer/sneaker wedges have been a manna from heaven to the feet. I DESIRED the sneaker wedge equivalent for the summer, to team them up with sport chic outfits including luxe sweatshirts, varsity tee's, loose jersey trousers, shorts and skirts. After yonks squandered surfing aimlessly through my usual online jaunts.. I stumbled across the ideal pair and bought them in black. I'm now opting to buy them in WHITE as they are super comfy to schlepp around in.

Summer nights film festival

14 Aug 2012

Have you been to any outdoor film festivals and concerts this summer ? Summer has just been passing me by, jam packed sport events have kept me rooted to my seat -: Euro's football, Wimbledon, Olympic games and the appalling British summer weather, has hindered any sort of alfresco dining and entertainment.

Last Friday my sisters and I gathered a picnic hamper, a few nibbles, a cider or two, blankets and camping chairs and off we went to the summer night film screening at Calke Abbey country estate, as luck would have it, it didn't rain! the film 'the woman in black' commenced as soon as the light had faded sufficiently, the parkland under the stars looked a visual treat.

My best outdoor experiences have not always been related to the food I've eaten, usually the location and company are the most important things, but great food obviously makes the experience better. What fun cultural things have you been squeezing in this summer?

Wouldn't you love to create something like the above in your very own backyard!?

Repentance for Blog Bottleneck

13 Jun 2011

Ive been slacking big time on my Blog. My apologies! Anyway I'll try to get back to being productive, soon! Apathy and disorganization has been kicking in, as well as maybe in-saneness since I created a Facebook page for this blog! Yeahh that may seem plainly normal to most folks, but I've always had this irrational cockamamie aversion and distaste to Facebook, I wont begin to describe the reasons why? Thus I WONT  ever budge on creating a personal profile on FB, but I have succumbed to a FB Fan page. And as the call:

Follow GuiltyHyena on FACEBOOK so digital life can be twice the fun! jk jk:

Circa Vintage Fur Coat

7 Mar 2011

MY SILHOUETTE WINTER DAYS of 1920 to 2011

Since Spring is nearing and Winter is nearly over, I thought I'll squeeze in what kept me most warm during the rush of autumn leaves that bled away. I divulge that I have a fondness for fur coats, I every so often receive a chuckle and a laugh from my family friends, owing to them witnessing me sporadically  wearing  three various winter fur coats, maybe it's because, they know I have a penchant for black and white films and pearl beads!

Above all though, the coat can be quite practical and warm, albeit the downside is they're heavy and weighty, and I quickly become dispirited walking long distance. My favorite aspect of this coat is that It combines two of my loves- LEATHER + 1920'S/1930'S VINTAGE with the added icing of faux fur. I think all women from time to time want to feel indulgent and grandiose and I think I'm too guilty of this, thus why I slip on a fur coat, when winter seems disparaging. - It's My Winter Treat

I normally don't couple this black Valentino leather bag with the coat, but I needed to transport my work goods.

Happy Birthday Madre

1 Mar 2011

Hey kind reader!

You're maybe wondering why it's been a few week and there's no post's about something absolutely off odd ball. But I've got an uber good reason--I promise. And I also promise to tell you all about it...some other time...honest! I tell you what though, I've been bookmarking all the little swell and dandy contraptions and habiliments over these last few weeks, and I'm itching to post these....there's a crush of new Fall 2011 collections exhibited at the New York, London, Italy Fashion Week I'm craving to share with you, though I know for now, I'm gonna have to pace myself! And todays, my mothers Birthday, which is why I've posted an old vintage photo of her -  as-well as Bonjour Paris Fashion Week! oh là là [yep french isn't my thang!]

She wont be happy to find out that I dug up this old photo from the photo album! But there's something about the coloring of this vinatge photo which I adore, as well as my mothers simplicity and innocence before migrating to England.

My letter to all shoe owners

22 Dec 2010

To, all the Shoe owners on this land,

Legend has it, that my name UGGs is short for 'Ugly' :( my existence is to keep your toes and feet snugly, not ugly, please look at me with more fondness and affection. I'm super comfy, great for winter and sometimes kinda cute, if you get beyond my exterior and poor reputation.

My Bleeding-Sole Regards
From Ugg

These Uggs were purchased on vacation, years back in the cold winter of New York.

Happy Guy Fawkes Day & Diwali

5 Nov 2010

My most favourite time of Autumn is celebrating Guy Fawkes Day with a bonfire and fireworks and for the first time since 30 something years the Indian festival of light called Diwali is also on the same day today so double celebrations all around and for those celebrating.

Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...

HAPPY DIWALI & WEEKEND..

Halloween 2010 Flames and Smoke Aftermath

1 Nov 2010

MY HAIR TURNED CHARCOAL
My sisters and I, decided to visit the Fright Night event at Stockfeld park on Saturday, where lurking in the forest near midnight and staggering into ghouls and beasts fully in character with chainsaws, turned out to be a surreal and exhilarating experience. At times when bumping into the creepy characters, you had to question if they were in fact not real! But the real eye-opener and horrifying experience was when my HAIR SET ON FIRE! I kid you not! on the Halloween night, while we were kitted out with halloween lights and candles and spooky music.

We were aiming to frighten the children, but instead ended up terrifying myself and sister who saw my hair up in flames after the candle on the windowsill caught my hair. My poor sister! I really gave her a fright, the night ended in stupor. The whole incident just happened in a matter of seconds accompanying Mike Myers Halloween theme playing in the background. THAT was the end of that night, we felt we summoned something evil in the house, looking back it was probably just an accident. We were filming silly moments with our masks on the iphone, just as we got really into the spirit. Watching them back now we can laugh, but a tinge of eeriness surrounds it knowing only a few minutes after my hair and side of my face was billowing with flames. I've added some footage below of my sisters clowning around in their masks.

To top it all off, I have my appointment at the hairdressers tomorrow morning, she will not like the state of my hair, I've decided to chop half of the length off now. It's a good job my hair grows quick To see more random photo's continue to clickity...

Feel Good Treats- Misguided Splash Nails

12 Oct 2010

The narrative moves rather sluggishly, that narrative being moi over the past two weeks. I've never really shared with you my enthusiasm towards organic health products. Sadly my enthusiasm for such items is not shared by my purse strings. Buying organic chemical free items is time consuming and pricey, so I always look to what I have in the fridge and kitchen, items such as honey, ginger, lemon and tumeric for home-made concoctions. The only problem is, it can sometimes get messy and whoever is in the kitchen is normally shoving me out of the way to make room to bake.
Trying on the MissChievous Vibrant Coral
I've been known to have ample's of enthusiasm for creating my own pharmacon lair in the home, until the daily grind digs in and its tick tock, and it has been this way since I fell stagnant and so I've decided to take things one footprint slower and treat myself inside and out, with some wheat-grass and krill oil and some good old home-cooking, banning any ready meals and feeding some massage oils for the skin. And perfect timing! I was entreated by Misguided womens fashion, to try out their new nail polish range called 'Misguided Splash', and it positively helps to feel good on the inside if you feel good on the outside.

But do you know what I was mostly satisfied about? was that these nail polish range are all Formaldehyde and Toluene free! Formaldehyde can cause irritation of the skin, eyes, nose, and throat and may also cause asthma, and so it has none of those toxic element's, proving to be a good pick me up to banish my blues. Here's hoping more beauty industries take the same initiative.

ENDURING FROM A FORM OF MALADAY
Very short post today, I'm drooping over what I call a peculiar bug over the past week, which has made me slightly lethargic with fever, and drowsiness. No idea what it was but I'm past the worst of it. I'll update on here once, the nurturing accessories, shoes and raiment's are back to the forefront of my mind. :-~) Hope you folks all had a frolic weekend and a Happy Monday! No need to leave a comment, I don't deserve the sympathy :-) Although maybe the cute Teddy below does.

Rafael Nadal Career Grand Slam

14 Sept 2010

Nadal wins U.S Open -Hurricane Rafa swept New York with gusty winds reaching 132 miles per hour.

I felt more alive than ever watching tennis last night, for those of you, who may or may not know, I've been following tennis since I was a young girl and have travelled to watch some tense thrilling live matches as a spectator and as a Rafa Nadal fan. I've always revelled in watching tennis, but I never really adamantly followed any one particular tennis player, until Nadal arrived onto the tennis arena. For this hyena tennis has never been the same since!

From watching Rafa win his first ever French Open to sealing a career grand slam has been an unbelievable odyssey. particularly when just last year after suffering a devastating injury, then having the courage to fight through the agony, the personal heartache, the despair, the pain to find his way back, when many others had written him off as done and dusted. Unbelievably proud!...for all of the work, all of the humble strides for improvement, for all the trials and pain he has been through to get here. Yet he's still the same humble endearing guy.

PINGO HIATUS OVER
Hiatus Over! Okay so I've been slacking off with updating this blog, I was swamped with work and travel, I wish I could say I had a thrilling hiatus- but NO such thing. The warm months of England or shall I say a warm month went by breakneck speed, and visiting the high street today in the city of Leicester, it was obvious to see the season of autumn clothes are ripe for us to pick and ready to wear off the racks. I'm not sure whether I'm ready for the morning dewy lanes just yet, but hopefully it will be a September to remember. Since my Grandmother will be coming over to stay in England with us for only the second time. I don't have the words or the vocab to describe how precious my grandmother is, her youthful grace and legendary wisdom is just one of life's richest treasure's.
[My Amigo]
I don't think I've ever shared my fondness for animals of all kinds, even though August was a hectic month, what with my sister moving homes, barbecues, birthday's including my own, visits to the national parks and carnivals in between. But recalling back to this, what I most relished, was visiting the near by canals and stable a skips away from where I live and spending time with the horses grazing on the farm. The horse above shown in the first photo, looking as if I'm about to stroke it's eye (I promise no harm was done!) has got to be one of the most approachable charismatic horses I have ever met. Sadly I don't know it's name as of yet, so I just call it my Amigo (friend). Secretly I think this horse is only curious about my hat-attire haha whenever I come to visit. Makes me wonder whether I should take up lessons for horse riding, but I don't think I've ever had good poise and balance and sturdy thigh muscles. I think I'll just stick to updating this blog for now. Yeh I'll be glad to start posting again sharing my quirky eye candy and visiting some of my favourite blogs again.

Really happy for the South Africans hosting the World Cup this time round, I'm sure they're going to make it a vibrant spectacular tournament, even for the non football fans, the carnival atmosphere is always fun and merry to join in with, it doesn't matter if you're not sure what the term ' Offside' means. Chalk one up for this emerging young designer from Sydney, Blackboard Brooch, speech bubble brooches Make the statement you want to make, then rub it out and start again..... Mine should read SLACKER, since last week blog slackness crept in, I was swept up by the Roland Garros Tennis finale along with a BBQ blitz and Family Wedding. CONGRATULATIONS RAFA
The nervousness was killing me this weekend, But I was absolutely elated for Rafael Nadal, who lifted his fifth Roland Garros title, after coming back from bad injury problems and enduring a tough year. He's a tennis player who I've followed closely over the last 6 years, and have had the pleasure of watching him play in the Monte Carlo Masters.  He's always been a class act on and off the court and I am so proud to be his fan - not just today but always.

MissDIOR Couture

28 May 2010

FRIDAY FILLER COLLAGES

Elzna Stirna of MissDIOR Couture blog, continuously creates aesthetically alluring fashion collages, that simply I feel would compliment any fashion magazine out there. They always inspire me to create some of my own using Photoshop and whatnot, but then I call to mind how self destructive I can be with any Art or creative project that I undertake without a given deadline or monetary value. I wish I could utilise my mini novice easel, take it to the outdoors and sit at peace with a canvas, but I don't have the inner calm or the patience. Feel free to meander at MissDior Coutures blog to see the rest of her creative collages.

Delightedly it would seem no more dodging raindrops for this coming weekend, perfect moment for some Al Fresco dining, and to visit a heritage park for the Tudor Festival. Have a smashing contentfull weekend Everyone!

Dsquared Sandals • Occupational Hazards

20 May 2010

DSQUARED SANDAL
Crushing on these Electric Sandals, If looks could kill these could be tried for manslaughter...... Cringe-worthy comment

OCCUPATIONAL HAZZARDS
I'm lacking in the shirts department, I'm fortunate that I work in a casual environment, but means I don't get the opportunity to wear a well tailored shirt and pencil skirt at work, on the occasions when I work from home, it becomes a chore getting out of bed in the morning's, I've always been a night owl, and knowing that I will be working home the night before, tempts me to assault any good horse sense and rationality that I possess, and when the clock mobile phone strikes after the 12 point, I'm dashing straight down to my mini humble office at home hoping no-one has noticed, including my oversized nightwear that I'm still wearing. I spurn the web camera.
Back to the topic on shirts, with the weather hotting up, I've been leafing through sites and found the below checked studded shirt/smock dress from Oasis on Sale. I was going to beat on the add to cart button, but I've misplaced by purse somewhere at home, and how I wished there was a Paypal button, or something. If this studded shirt sells out before I discover my purse c'est la vie, it wasn't meant to be.

//White Linda Farrow Sunglasses //Three Princes spiked razor blade Ring via Etsy.  //ASOS Triple Chain Necklace With Studded Ring Charm ASOS
The shirt, combo'd with some Linda Farrow white sunglasses could look electric, albeit realistically, the Farrow sunglasses would look redonkulous! placed on my point sharp nose, but it doesn't come into my equation anyway with the allowance budget in mind. But sadly all wayfarer shapes sunnies don't brew well with my noggin. But I'll turn this deprivation into channelling buying some wayfarers for my sisters, that way I'll feel less handicapped.

Enjoy you're weekend folks Fridays arrived pleasantly rapid this week
Look Forward to updating you all next week, with the Reebok EasyTone Trainers I've received to Trial and find if they truly tone the glutes and legs.

Backs Against The Wall

3 May 2010

Backs against the wall spell! apologies for neglecting the blog, I'm currently on a mission to complete a project at my métier, oddly enough I randomly made the image above by procrastination some time ago and I though it just matched the mood.

Adieu for now much love to you folks..

Tiny Tribute to Alexander McQueen

15 Apr 2010

It's still very sad, to think of Alexander McQueen's tragic demise, but I wanted to share with you all my white and gold Alexander McQueen coat I purchased back in 2004 during my uni days. This is still currently one of my favourite items in my wardrobe today. (Although I still need to wear it more often!) Slap on the wrist time It has this detailing in a gold piping and small eyelets with strings conjoining the top bodice and bottom bodice together, with a showing of scattering pieces of lace strings.

I thought I'll take a few snap shots of my muse Jou Jou Hyena wearing the coat, note it is probably more of a closer fit to myself, due to being slightly bigger than on my sister, and I thought I'll team the coat up with some new white wedges I requested from a friend of mine from Tokyo.
