Romance Was Born SS 2011/12

3 May 2011

Wild Aussie label 'Romance was Born' once more demanded attention from the pack, looking to the imagination and emotion to guide their collection. Reflecting the art deco royalty and eccentric romantic movement decorously,  Reason and logic can yield the known and the limited but the spontaneous overflow of imagination can give life to a otherworld like fairytale, like this collection of ancient Aztec prints, queen-ship hair and head accessory turbans, adorned with pearls and embellishments. I would probably do it a disservice if I thought the hair Cinnamon bun style slightly reminded me of Princess Leia? Hum I think so! okay lets scratch that.

Don't we all want to.. be unique? IOU Project

20 Apr 2011

Fashion can at times be materialistic, It's all about being in with the latest trend, where luxury goods and fashion items are promoted as being necessary, or essential for fulfilling life VERSUS understanding the inspiration and motive behind a collection, and acknowledging craftsmanship.

.....................I see fashion as an art form,
you know?
A way of self-expression.

Thus If I come across anything which has purposeful consequences and fruition related to the Fashion industry, I unhesitatingly prick up my ears. This occurred when I received an email from fashion designer Kavita Parmar sharing a preview of the IOU Project. The team at IOU project are striving to transform the entire process of manufacturing garments, via fusing fashion design and supply chain in an innovative way. IF YOU'RE CONFUSED WATCH THE VIDEO! it explains it a whole lot better.

dedicated to making every piece unique and fresh from small batches of fabrics handwoven in India
The IOU Project will be launching their clothing line at the end of the month!

I am yours and you, you are mine

$98 of power high walking! at Storets

Lately I've been spending my energies with everything but dandifying my wardrobe, I've been on the hunt for- new white acrylic wall shelves, music software to create music mixes ~ (which peeked my interest until I fail miserably) art work album covers, coffee table's...and just plain aloof procrastinating. Newly of late the two items above are on my craving scroll! Wouldn't they make a tasty combo!? The faux leather trench coat reminds me of the ala Burberry Garbardine Trench Coat with contrast sleeves, shown image below. The price difference bolsters my cravings, but doesn't aid me to reach into my purse now, as I have diddly squat this month to my name. Serves me right for my non-frugal spending.

Patience is the art of caring slowly :(

Eleven Objects Fall 2011

11 Apr 2011

SEDUCTIVE COLLAR CZARINA
All hail the empress of collar's that holds up the cranial nape of the neck, sculpted to powder your neck . It is all things duly veil’d, both with chic and cheeky touches of calf hair, leopard print, swarovski crystals and spikes, buttons, screws and studs. Eleven Objects was established when Linh Thi Do and Christine Rhee simultaneously decided that their wardrobes would be vastly improved by a different kind of accessory. This is their debut collection- My neck could crave for this guillotine’s spiked kiss of the collar!

Linh Thi Do previously worked at TSE and Alexander Wang. She studied biology and fine arts at Rice University and then received her Associates degree in fashion design at Parsons School of Design. Christine Rhee studied architecture at Princeton University. She designed her eponymous line, CRHEE, which was featured in Marie Claire, WWD, and Teen Vogue, and has also worked as a marketing coordinator for BOYY.

K.Brat Womenswear Collection

28 Mar 2011

The first instance I came across the label K Brat, was the moment when, I spotted designer Keren Brat's handbag collection, which was constructed with great detail and attention, I never got round to sharing this collection with you readers back then, so I wont pass up the opportunity of sharing the latest AW 2010-2011 Womenswear collection, made up of high quality hand made garments tailored among strong classic lines, added with the twist of freshness giving it an edge, whilst keeping the independent modern woman in mind.
The tailored mien would complement most womens shapes and figure, inducing chicness with light pastel grays and purple with hints of ruffle and zip detailing. It's all in the elfin power details. To see the rest of the collection visit the link below.
