MV Playlist ○ G-DRAGON ○ LUPE FIASCO ○ PSY

○ G-DRAGON One Of A Kind

Singer songwriter producer G-Dragon combines de novo style, charisma, showmanship, and the ability to mark the essence of his prowess as a performer in this much anticipated music video. The “ helloooo “ is echoing in my head. This Korean Hip-Hop track is just the intro to G-Dragon's latest new album, propelling a flurry to what more could be in store.
○ lupe fiasco

I have to profess I am a super LAZY lyric listener, usually the beat and melody grabs my attention first, yet I'm swayed to listen to Lupe's lyrics as he spits something meaningful over pop-esque, BUT I've never got round to having a good proper listen! The above track " Battle Scars " has a sumptuous shout-a-long chorus by Guy Sebastian creating a terrific ear-worm.

Lupe Fiasco’s intention was to start a dialogue with this conscious track , the conversation about girls self identifying as “bad bitches”.  I really appreciate this song, a vivid story teller and It doesn’t get much simpler than the chorus.

How do you feel about the term "a Bad Bitch?" Everyone has their own definition when it comes to the word “BITCH” I know it can also be used as a term of endearment between women as in “That’s My BITCH.” Can women use and reclaim the word “bitch” or “bad bitch” as an empowerment tool ?
○ PSY Gangnam Style

PSY has entertained the masses in Korea for over a decade, I've heard his live concerts are boss! Glad to see this MV has gone viral and the invisible horse dance is just PSY all over.

The World's First Interactive Shoppable Music Video

26 Apr 2012

Folks at SSENSE have launched the first interactive shoppable music video! pretty cool huh! [though I heard ASOS did it first] All performers in the video of the premier 'I think she ready' were styled exclusively by SSENSE, where you can shop Iggy’s, FKi’s and Diplo’s looks using interactive hotspot technology from wireWAXAlthough viewers probably couldn't afford half of the clothes for sale including moi, the video is a tribute to high fashion and the next generation of shopping.

SSENSE CEO Rami Atallah explains, “This is the first time the worlds of music, fashion and commerce have truly overlapped. The integration we are introducing between technology, entertainment and retail with this video not only creates a unique experience for the audience, but also has utility. People often wonder what performers are wearing, where they can purchase that item – we have bridged that gap.”
You can use the exact same technology for free, if you as bloggers like to create make-up, diy video tutorials. There's a free package available at wireWAX though it's probably limited as subscription provides more, but I anticipate we'll be seeing alot more of taggable video tools soon.

Check out an older music post I created with an image taggable tool called Thinglink, they now charge for the service but it's a pretty neat tool.

Spectacular Mapping in Liverpool - 100 YR Anniversary of Liverbird Building

16 Sept 2011

The city of Liverpool will always have a special place in my life, It was my home for 2 and a half years, back when I was a student at Uni. I use to live a stones away from the historical Liver Building and would have loved to have witnessed this spectacular mapping with my own eyes. I'm glad I have a brilliant excuse of frequently travelling to Liverpool...by hitting the road to Anfield and supporting Liverpool Football Club!

Mapping created by Czech based team The Macula.

14 Jul 2011

This enchanting cinematography makes for palpable viewing, would you have thought? a sport like skateboarding could bring so much intrigue fascination and joy, coupled with the local vibe and organic scenery. Captured by Guilhem Machenaud,  "A true meeting between skateboard and people, in a simply incredible country." - Oxelo

I never got round to sharing the music video of 2NE1's latest single 'I am the best' whom are seen donning all various Avant-Garde and magnetizing delights, covered in here. 'Bam Ratatata Tatatatata' is the most euphonic part of the track. ~  I've just realised I've made a boo boo because I thought it was Friday!!  'A Thursday hopscotching' it is then.

How about watching a Movie Tonight?

MOVIES I NEED TO WATCH
A: I Saw the Devil

Brutal Stylish Thriller with Filmaker Kim Jee-Woon at the helm

One of the highly regarded actors in my eyes as-well as others Lee Byung Hun, is starring in this movie including Oldboy's prominent actor Choi Min-shik. I'm anticipating Byung Hun is going to bring some high intensity to this stylish moody movie thriller. Don’t know when the English subtitles will become available in my neck of the woods though, hopefully soon over the coming weeks.

B: 127 Hours

Raw and harrowing movie by Director Danny Boyle

James Franco, who you'll probably know best from the Spider-man series as, Harry Osbourne is portrayed as mountain climber in this movie, who falls into a Canyon crevasse and get's his arm trapped by a falling boulder *ouch*. I've heard my favourite composer A.R.Rahman has composed some of the background score for this film, teaming up with Danny Boyle again after Slumdog Millionaire. Apparently this movie is not for the squeamish. (cant wait!)

C: THE FIGHTER

A look at the early years of boxer Irish Micky Ward Directed by David O. Russell

I've been waiting for this one! since I'm a huge aficionado of Christian Bale and I have a feeling this movie is going to live up to my expectations. It seems to have a strong cast with the likes of Amy Adams and Mark Wahlberg, but my eyes will be firmly peeled on Bale who seem's to have lost weight (again) and thinning of hair for this role, looking unrecognisable, showing his usual dedication to a character.

One I need'nt share with you all is the upcoming release of Harry Potter and the deathly hallows, cant believe that will be nearly all over. I remember being at college and working in a Toy Store when the first Harry Potter was released, at that point I was honestly sick of hearing the Harry Potter theme being played on loop constantly at work! But it made all the little ones excited.

I nearly forgot to share, two movies I just watched recently and recommend to you all are Catfish and Flipped 2010.

Halloween 2010 Flames and Smoke Aftermath

1 Nov 2010

MY HAIR TURNED CHARCOAL
My sisters and I, decided to visit the Fright Night event at Stockfeld park on Saturday, where lurking in the forest near midnight and staggering into ghouls and beasts fully in character with chainsaws, turned out to be a surreal and exhilarating experience. At times when bumping into the creepy characters, you had to question if they were in fact not real! But the real eye-opener and horrifying experience was when my HAIR SET ON FIRE! I kid you not! on the Halloween night, while we were kitted out with halloween lights and candles and spooky music.

We were aiming to frighten the children, but instead ended up terrifying myself and sister who saw my hair up in flames after the candle on the windowsill caught my hair. My poor sister! I really gave her a fright, the night ended in stupor. The whole incident just happened in a matter of seconds accompanying Mike Myers Halloween theme playing in the background. THAT was the end of that night, we felt we summoned something evil in the house, looking back it was probably just an accident. We were filming silly moments with our masks on the iphone, just as we got really into the spirit. Watching them back now we can laugh, but a tinge of eeriness surrounds it knowing only a few minutes after my hair and side of my face was billowing with flames. I've added some footage below of my sisters clowning around in their masks.

To top it all off, I have my appointment at the hairdressers tomorrow morning, she will not like the state of my hair, I've decided to chop half of the length off now. It's a good job my hair grows quick To see more random photo's continue to clickity...

Jean Julien Pous 'Seeking You'

16 Jan 2010

Love Letter to Hong Kong
“A man lost his love. He decides to go out and find her in the night of Hong Kong, only to realize that it’s not with her he’s in love, but with the city itself.”
A short beautiful animation, Seeking You” is a love letter to Hong Kong written and directed by Jean-Julien Pous. I love the soundtrack used in this animation.
