Link Love : Would You Rather ?

6 Jul 2012

Which would you rather ?  My answers are a borrower .. an alligator tail .. and the last one is hard to choose!?

Would you rather is a pretty simple game, where I think we've all played it one time or another during our fruitful teen years! Most likely we played it for our own amusement or just out of sheer boredom especially if it was during a double maths lesson.

From a curious perspective I wonder if we can deduce a persons personality or rationale through their answers, even if they're make believe scenarios !? The witty part can come afterwards when discussing the trivial answers and why we came to that conclusion, or is that a tad too geeky of me ?

So anyhow it made me smile when I came across the http://woodyrather.tumblr.com whom creates fun colourful illustrations characterising the would you rather scenarios. Go check it out! How would you answer the above ? ?

Enjoy your weekend folkss!

Darcel Drink Drank Drunk Louis Vuitton

DARCEL PAINTS THE TOWN RED
I think I've fallen for adorkable Darcel :) The ever charming and hopeful Darcel from the exciting blog Darcel Disappoints managed to charm his way in to toast the Opening of the Luxury Brand's New London Maison.
New Louis Vuitton maison at New Bond Street, same Old Darcel
Drink refills, art library and a Gilbert & George on the wall- I think I had this dream before
Multicolour Murakami Madness with 'kiki'
Battling the crowd, floating down the glass staircase
Channelling Madonna and working the red carpet with Iris Strubegger
Behold, the Great Wall of luggage
One too many........ as always

The person behind Darcel is a New York based illustrator Craig Redman.Redman’s posts are personal diary entries of what he does in New York on a daily basis, and through his computer-generated illustrations, he puts his alter ego of Darcel through the paces of simple but unfortunate events, where it could only occur in Darcel's world.

MissDIOR Couture

FRIDAY FILLER COLLAGES

Elzna Stirna of MissDIOR Couture blog, continuously creates aesthetically alluring fashion collages, that simply I feel would compliment any fashion magazine out there. They always inspire me to create some of my own using Photoshop and whatnot, but then I call to mind how self destructive I can be with any Art or creative project that I undertake without a given deadline or monetary value. I wish I could utilise my mini novice easel, take it to the outdoors and sit at peace with a canvas, but I don't have the inner calm or the patience. Feel free to meander at MissDior Coutures blog to see the rest of her creative collages.

Delightedly it would seem no more dodging raindrops for this coming weekend, perfect moment for some Al Fresco dining, and to visit a heritage park for the Tudor Festival. Have a smashing contentfull weekend Everyone!

Nick Gentry Floppy Disk Paintings

24 May 2010

I still have dozens of outdated floppy disks laying around the garage and study room, If I recall watching some random T.V show, they had divulged in the idea of using Floppy disks as tea coasters as a great way of recycling an item. Now I did for second ponder the idea of it, but in all honesty, I couldn't imagine a floppy disk placed on the coffee table or sofa armchair and add to that I don't really drink tea or coffee. So I thought that's it! I'm binning them! Now Obviously Nick Gentry thought of no such thing! Nick felt
"Reusing objects can negate the need for waste, with a new function that also often has more charm than that of the original. Seeing art produced in this way can encourage a more creative approach to everyday objects that are deemed to be obsolete or useless. What brings the overall concept to life is that blend of the nostalgic and familiar, together with the freshness of a new form of expression".
In summary Mr Gentry has brought about a whole new movement of creating floppy disk paintings and leaving artistically handwritten labels often left to show through. What I like about this, its using 80's and 90's media format, bringing  a nice nostalgic sense to the piece combined with beautiful illustrations.

JOSE DURAN SPRING 2010
Jose Duran's Spring/Summer 2010 collection embodies an alloy of military futuristic valiant warrior which can both appreciate the nature of feminine beauty but will also wear metal arm cuff and lace up peep toes of armour, oozing of a fierce and feminine mien. The Dominican Republic born Jose Duran is one of the recognized new talent and has become one of the members of the new wave of the New York fashion. LEVELUS SPIRIT LEVEL PERFUME

A perfume bottle and spirit level, something a cultivated carpenter could maybe not do without! Quite nifty for hanging up a straight levelled painting or a full length mirror before a night out, or for a spring home makeover. I'm a sucker for a two in one gadget, The bottle is designed for an emotional, strong and self-confident man who doesn’t waste his time.
