BUMBLEBEE BOB

I'm sharing my recent hair cut with mental preparedness you could say I was reluctant , I had the hair chopped off after I unwittingly set fire to my hair~~I never realised hair could be so flammable! the hair was elbow length ~~!! Nevertheless I decided to go for the full bob, then make it shoulder length... And now I name it the Bumble Beee Bob. This is my first phase of colour, I will gradually whiten the colour at my next appointment at the hairdressers. Should I go as far to matching it with my bumble bee coloured socks? *=* I'm kidding I promise!   

The feathered cape, is one my favourite accessories but frankly I don't wear it often enough, but it fell off the tall high shelf whilst opening the closet and concluded it was a predetermined course. Half Bird/Half Bumble Bee. Should I have chirp chirped or made the Bzzzzzzz sound?!

MY HAIR TURNED CHARCOAL

My sisters and I, decided to visit the Fright Night event at Stockfeld park on Saturday, where lurking in the forest near midnight and staggering into ghouls and beasts fully in character with chainsaws, turned out to be a surreal and exhilarating experience. At times when bumping into the creepy characters, you had to question if they were in fact not real! But the real eye-opener and horrifying experience was when my HAIR SET ON FIRE! I kid you not! on the Halloween night, while we were kitted out with halloween lights and candles and spooky music.

We were aiming to frighten the children, but instead ended up terrifying myself and sister who saw my hair up in flames after the candle on the windowsill caught my hair. My poor sister! I really gave her a fright, the night ended in stupor. The whole incident just happened in a matter of seconds accompanying Mike Myers Halloween theme playing in the background. THAT was the end of that night, we felt we summoned something evil in the house, looking back it was probably just an accident. We were filming silly moments with our masks on the iphone, just as we got really into the spirit. Watching them back now we can laugh, but a tinge of eeriness surrounds it knowing only a few minutes after my hair and side of my face was billowing with flames. I've added some footage below of my sisters clowning around in their masks.

To top it all off, I have my appointment at the hairdressers tomorrow morning, she will not like the state of my hair, I've decided to chop half of the length off now. It's a good job my hair grows quick To see more random photo's continue to clickity...

Spooky Sunday Halloween

Givenchy featured a leather mask in their Spring/Summer 2011 in Paris that created a commotion in the fashion world. Personally I think it's a tad high-fashion for this Sunday's looming hallows eve, but I'm hoping I don't bump into something similar looking on my fright night walk in the Stockton woods event. Argh I'm predicting it's going to be freezing cold and creepy, I don't know why I agreed to go this event- Too late now to back out!

Have a Wild Hallow's Eve all..... go crazy with Trick or Treat outfits, it's our most opportunistic moment to turn into playing raving adolescent's.

SUN-VISORS- TOTAL ECLIPSE 

Anyone currently located in the Northern hemisphere, will likely have no use of sun-visors any-more for the time-being sadly, for those of you in the southern hemisphere namely you lucky Aussies who have Summer arriving. Here's some sun-visors created by starstyling made in Korea, for a cool price of 36 Euro's at Tuxedo confessions. I know many associate sun visors with middle aged woman jogging in a pastel coloured jogging suit in neon get up. But it don't have to be this way, reflected in the photo below by PHOTOGRAPHER Saga.

Maria Doychinova- Petroleum Collection

There's a smatter of creative designer's, had it not been for this blog I never would have discovered and heard about. And one of my most preferred methods of communication is via email. I'm always delighted to receive an email from exciting new to veteran designers. Maria Doychinova is one of the distinctive few whom I remember hearing from and recalling how fascinating her collection ( " In Comment "- clickity to see her earlier collection) was and overall being pleased she kept in contact.

For those of you who dont recall, Maria Doychinova, is a Vienna based designer and Native Bulgarian, who has gained valuable skills working with Roland Mouret and Hussein Chalayan before founding her own label named DOYCHINOFF in 2006. Maria's latest collection called "Petroleum", unsurprisingly has a fascinating concept behind the innovative material clothing..

Maria says "Are all forms of modern technologies actually petroleum products? The question is not meant to be answered, but to make you think about the modern world surrounding us and the petroleum dependence level in our life. Who we are and the way we look is a result of the use of the “black gold” and its technology, so you may say modern look and fashion exists because of it.

For the first time, according with that concept, some of the fabrics were used are directly product of the petroleum modern technology. "Leather imitations, so soft and friendly to the skin and human body, which you wouldn't think is synthetic. Or polyester and polyamide based materials with the qualities of silk and cotton." This can be shown and reflected throughout these images below.

Maria used a very special laser technology to cut out car tire patterns in the leather which should remind of the most popular petroleum product – the automotive industry. The photo -shooting of the Collection took place at the very big and modern OMV Refinery near Vienna.   

Her collections will surely please those you appreciate experimentation and originating materials that can be utilised of in the impending future.
