Jump + Frolic from Paper

Funky 2D cartoon-like designer bags by JumpFromPaper created by Taipei based design duo Chay Su and Rika Lin ( even the cute duck wants in on the cartoon action! )

I've always wanted to be a cartoon comic book like character, and I came that one bit closer thanks to the Giggle Bag sent courtesy of Jump From Paper. Although I didn't need much encouragement to embrace my inner child and goofiness, life is too short to be always serious! I had a hoopla of fun shooting some photo's with the giggle bag, which is an apt name for this funky handbag!
Born from their childhood love of cartoons and comics, this designer duo created Jump From Paper with the aim making everyone’s childhoods dream come true – and confusing people. We love to confuse people, but more so, we love to see them burst out into laughter once they realize these are real bags,” say the designers. So what exactly are these bags? They’re amazingly graphic creations that look like they’ve been photoshopped into real life, straight from the pages of a comic book or cartoon. It’s true, they really look like they’ve jumped from paper.
I've recently took the plunge to join Instagram so feel free to follow! Some more NEWS I have been spending some of my free time creating a new blog redesign and I will be moving away from Blogger to a new platform to expand this blog, eeeek! I will miss Blogger it has been good to me, the blog address will stay the same, so hopefully I should have my new blogging home ready sometime in early May! See you there soon! :) Enjoy your Easter break!

Sochi Games Snow Web Surfing

24 Feb 2014

RED + BLACK OUTFIT RUSSIAN STYLE

I'm hiding behind my Nexus tablet with a sheepish snarl. In the spirit of the Sochi Winter Olympic Games, I decided to hit the snow slopes, MY VERY FIRST TIME. I'm woeful at ice skating, I'm usually holding on to the side-rails for dear life, but I was completely hooked watching the half pipe snowboarding at the Sochi Games.

I was compelled to give snowboarding a try. I wasn't expecting any miracles but instead of the half-pipe life, it quickly turned into a hard knock life! my balance and posture was all over the place! It didn't take long for me to swiftly take off the snowboard and do what I do best. . . Surf the Web ! instead of Surf the Snow. I'm a avid spectator of most sports so catching up with live sports scores are a must! Liverpool FC were having another entertaining match at Anfield. I made it home just back in time to watch the fireworks of the Olympic Games closing ceremony.

Work, Blog or PLAY, I pretty much never go without my portable office, consisting of

+ Nexus Tablet  ( Google Maps, Email, Websurf, Twitter, Phonecalls, Camera and Music etc apps )
+ Headphones
+ Roku Player ( Streams pretty much anything on the big screen for entertainment purposes )
+ Laptop ( Photoshop , Illustrator and Blogging )

I'm known to take the tablet with me everywhere, even whilst I'm having a soak in the bath, I think there is a term for my condition, it is called (IAD) Internet addiction disorder, it makes commuting on trains and buses a less of a chore. I try avoid lugging my laptop around, but it's a must for my use of Photoshop and Illustrator.

Golden Chain Ankle Boots

8 Jan 2014

Roll on 2014 ~ How's January treating you so far ? Truth be told - I have been becoming a little domesticated lately, instead of taking advantage of the January sales, scouring for clothes, shoes and accessories, I've had to focus on home improvements. They say a Clean Home = Clear Mind.

I've been craving chain ankle boots since I clapped eyes on these Givenchy boots , there was an ice cubes chance in hell I would be buying those, so I've patiently waited for an inspired look from the high street. I came across the 'Kurt Geiger strike chain booties' but in the end I opted for the Chicwish ankle boots with chunky golden chain tying on front.

MY SILHOUETTE WINTER DAYS of 1920 to 2011

Since Spring is nearing and Winter is nearly over, I thought I'll squeeze in what kept me most warm during the rush of autumn leaves that bled away. I divulge that I have a fondness for fur coats, I every so often receive a chuckle and a laugh from my family friends, owing to them witnessing me sporadically  wearing  three various winter fur coats, maybe it's because, they know I have a penchant for black and white films and pearl beads!

Above all though, the coat can be quite practical and warm, albeit the downside is they're heavy and weighty, and I quickly become dispirited walking long distance. My favorite aspect of this coat is that It combines two of my loves- LEATHER + 1920'S/1930'S VINTAGE with the added icing of faux fur. I think all women from time to time want to feel indulgent and grandiose and I think I'm too guilty of this, thus why I slip on a fur coat, when winter seems disparaging. - It's My Winter Treat

I normally don't couple this black Valentino leather bag with the coat, but I needed to transport my work goods.

BUMBLEBEE BOB

I'm sharing my recent hair cut with mental preparedness you could say I was reluctant , I had the hair chopped off after I unwittingly set fire to my hair~~I never realised hair could be so flammable! the hair was elbow length ~~!! Nevertheless I decided to go for the full bob, then make it shoulder length... And now I name it the Bumble Beee Bob. This is my first phase of colour, I will gradually whiten the colour at my next appointment at the hairdressers. Should I go as far to matching it with my bumble bee coloured socks? *=* I'm kidding I promise!

The feathered cape, is one my favourite accessories but frankly I don't wear it often enough, but it fell off the tall high shelf whilst opening the closet and concluded it was a predetermined course. Half Bird/Half Bumble Bee. Should I have chirp chirped or made the Bzzzzzzz sound?!

PINGO HIATUS OVER
Hiatus Over! Okay so I've been slacking off with updating this blog, I was swamped with work and travel, I wish I could say I had a thrilling hiatus- but NO such thing. The warm months of England or shall I say a warm month went by breakneck speed, and visiting the high street today in the city of Leicester, it was obvious to see the season of autumn clothes are ripe for us to pick and ready to wear off the racks. I'm not sure whether I'm ready for the morning dewy lanes just yet, but hopefully it will be a September to remember. Since my Grandmother will be coming over to stay in England with us for only the second time. I don't have the words or the vocab to describe how precious my grandmother is, her youthful grace and legendary wisdom is just one of life's richest treasure's.
[My Amigo]
I don't think I've ever shared my fondness for animals of all kinds, even though August was a hectic month, what with my sister moving homes, barbecues, birthday's including my own, visits to the national parks and carnivals in between. But recalling back to this, what I most relished, was visiting the near by canals and stable a skips away from where I live and spending time with the horses grazing on the farm. The horse above shown in the first photo, looking as if I'm about to stroke it's eye (I promise no harm was done!) has got to be one of the most approachable charismatic horses I have ever met. Sadly I don't know it's name as of yet, so I just call it my Amigo (friend). Secretly I think this horse is only curious about my hat-attire haha whenever I come to visit. Makes me wonder whether I should take up lessons for horse riding, but I don't think I've ever had good poise and balance and sturdy thigh muscles. I think I'll just stick to updating this blog for now. Yeh I'll be glad to start posting again sharing my quirky eye candy and visiting some of my favourite blogs again.

Skull + Beads + Bangles

SKULL SENSITIVE
I have always had an over-active imagination (fertile imagination), it probably reflects in my dreams and nightmares. I've come across many tasty items which have a skull attached to it and for some reason I've always associated skulls with the Masonic cult rituals and the darkness, having seen skulls in so many places, I've started to feel desensitised around them. Consequently my sister and I came across a newly opened store which had many tasty leather skull embellished handbags.

thus I decided to seize the opportunity to buy these handbags, my sister brought one and I brought the other so we can swap and share any-time. I do have a weakness for soft leather handbags and we were also fortunate on getting one of the handbags half price due to the staff weren't too sure of the prices...hooray!

I took some snaps of my sister Ju Ju Hyena! and if have a closer look you can probably see the beer garden, which we made plenty of use of for The World Cup with the England flag still left standing.. It's a well known tradition in England, that No One flies and displays their national England flag, many countries are naturally patriotic, but not England, unless when the football World Cup arrives, flags are everywhere to be seen however as soon as we are knocked out, everyone takes them down. Although I have yet to take ours down haha largely due to lethargy.

Sequins & Sou Brette Jewellery

25 Jun 2010

SEQUACIOUS SEQUIN LEAFS
This isnt a peculiar rewind time warp thing, I'm taking a revisit back to a post I wrote on Sou Brette Jewellery, what I forgot to mention was a few weeks ago I jumped the broom and decided to gather some of my hyena pennies and spend it on, one of these tasty Puramis Choker's with the central pyramid. The key word for buying this Choker was 'It's an INVESTMENT' that was what I kept telling myself in order to relieve any doubt.

By mere coincidence a few days later whilst I was riffling though several on-line stores, I came across the Kenya Dress at Monsoon, which had an all over sequin look and beading, and what sealed the deal, was the sequin beading on the back end of the dress. Furthermore I decided to wear it at a family wedding and amalgamate it with an Asian fusion, since Asian weddings are all about sparkly vibrant visage.
And so I've decided to take the plunge and share a photo a lovely friend took of the Sou Brette choker I wore at the occasion, standing with one of my confidants- my sister,
who is very reluctant like myself to share any photo's with others as being very private people that we are and frankly I'm more comfortable behind the camera, because a lense whatever sized pointed in my direction makes me break into gawkiness and it's officially named by my family & friends my 'leather mode'  -hahaha

The longest Tennis Match in History at Wimbledon & a slightly scary match by Rafa Nadal and a furthermore nerve racking football match by England has kept me on tenterhook's this week along with deciding to take Golf Lessons which I candidly decided to take so I can enjoy the open fresh air and greenery whilst occasionally veering the Golf Buggy all over the vicinity.

A phrase that sums up my Golfing calibre - Caddy Do you think my game is improving? Oh yes, Madam You miss the ball much closer than you used to- So it's no Golf for me for this Weekend I think I'll stick to continue watching sport than having a slipshod attempt at playing. Have A Great Weekend All..

Tiny Tribute to Alexander McQueen

15 Apr 2010

It's still very sad, to think of Alexander McQueen's tragic demise, but I wanted to share with you all my white and gold Alexander McQueen coat I purchased back in 2004 during my uni days. This is still currently one of my favourite items in my wardrobe today. (Although I still need to wear it more often!) Slap on the wrist time It has this detailing in a gold piping and small eyelets with strings conjoining the top bodice and bottom bodice together, with a showing of scattering pieces of lace strings.

I thought I'll take a few snap shots of my muse Jou Jou Hyena wearing the coat, note it is probably more of a closer fit to myself, due to being slightly bigger than on my sister, and I thought I'll team the coat up with some new white wedges I requested from a friend of mine from Tokyo.

Beads found Beneath a Corset

I've somehow only now gotten around to posting these photos, Ju Ju was sweet enough to let me to take these, her Diba boots are the most cozy fitted knee high boots you could wear, perfect for the cold winter snow here at the moment, and a great hidden wedge heel to prop you up.
