"Normally this kind of holiday work would come with bonus pay. But with all of the jobs being shipped off to Brazil, they felt lucky to be getting time-and-a-half. " quips artist Christoper Boffoli

Bjork Biophilia Visuals

12 Oct 2011

Bjork doesn't do things by half measures! still showing she’s ahead of her time...Beseech the striking new Album Art Biophilia » A Visual Blowout exploring of a union between technology and music«

Biophilia will be the world's first app album in collaboration with Apple. Björk has described the project as a multimedia collection, encompassing music, apps, internet, installations, and live shows.

I'm pretty ignorant of her music besides the mainstream hit ' It's Oh So Quiet' but what I can sense is that she is a daring visionary, with her music, art, style, and technology.

{Shoes} Creepers Return

11 Oct 2011

I think you may have noticed many different versions of creepers have been popping up everywhere, Tokyo itself has been donning it's creepers, ever since I could remember! But I'm stoked that creepers have returned back to there original home in mainstream England where the brothel creepers found their origins in the years following World War II.

VANS X JESSE JO STARK SNEAKER CREEPER

Monday Contraptions + TV ANTICS

10 Oct 2011

This is my first post yielded in October, I'm feeling conscience stricken for not having posted anything here for 10 days.. it's not for a lack of material - lord knows I wanted to bequeath on you MORE unusual shoes and whatever cockamamie trappings I usually post ~ I have a confession I never use the word 'lord' it just transpires when I write! tis why I minimize self ramblings, I come to realise whatever I type sounds nothing like me! There's my DAILY gab separated by my TYPING gab. But whichever gab it is today.. I decided to tentatively peck at my keyboard on this very Monday  So... Where do I begin?
.
Lately I've watched 'My Goldfish is Evil' yes I will outright declare I switch channels for this show! Unless you're under 13 or have younger; siblings nieces/nephews children of your own it is very LIKELY YOU may NOT have heard of this show.

I seem to be acquainted with my inner child and adore the concept of an evil criminal genius fish who can be quite witty versus his poor owner Beanie. Before you think I'm a votary of this show, just so you know I've watched 3 episodes in the span of couple of months, so it begs to differ why this made the forefront of this post!?

Probably a bit late for this one but anyways the show 'Cake Boss', what inventiveness of fondant magic used to concoct cray cray cakes, I like the family & team and the way they pull together when needed. My parents had a family business so I can relate to this show.

USEFUL APPS

1. Zoff Mirror featuring the well known Japanese model Kiko Mizuhara - try out the free app online!

2. Alarm clock app Okite posts embarrassing tweets to your Twitter feed, each time you hit snooze. - Available on iPhones

After the alarm goes off in the morning, the app send out tweets, such as “dressed as a sailor now” and “not enough talented people like me in the world”, whenever users hit the snooze button.

Okite, which means “wake up” in Japanese, is a free app that discourages users from sleeping in, developed by Japanese company Eureka. Sadly though this isn't localized in English! I could really do with this.. If this is not incentive to wake up, I’m not sure what is!

Burçe Bekrek SS 2012 - ESTRO/VERSA

29 Sept 2011

Do take a moment to get to know Burçe Bekrek, whom I featured last season as the one to watch, she has returned with a clear versatile, uber feminine collection with a palatable edge. Burce has reflected her craft and creativity by paying attention to new fabric compositions, forming 50% linen & 50% cotton fabrics to ward off crinkle crease predicaments, whilst keeping faithful to key fabrics as silk crepe, silk jersey and washed silk. You can once again discern the multipurpose compatible pieces in this collection transpiring as her design philosophy. The handmade collar accessory and zippers which come in three colors, are a sweetened bonus to the collection.  I would wear these in a heart beat!

Burçe describes the versatility of this collection "Couture like dresses that seem like a one piece, are two pieces and can be wearable at anywhere anytime. For example the skirts can also fit well with boyfriend cut tees! My vest designs can be wearable in two or three ways."

Unique Earrings

26 Sept 2011

As you may very well know by now, along with minimal classic concepts, I'm always drawn to kooky unique designs, now , alot of the time.. I can't pull off the kooky designs but I SURE like to give it a try! and that Unicorn earring makes me want to! If I was going for a more stronger look I would wear the screw earring, It really looks like a rustic screw nail.. but it ain't of course! Check out cartilage earrings from FreshTrends.

LUXIRARE SHOE REPAIR

20 Sept 2011

My favorite immensely stylish and put-together food + fashion blog, Luxirare, remains as highly inventive as ever, the mysterious Ji Kim perpetually takes impossible ideas and makes them real, here is another insanely super creation for which the shoes she had brought from Etsy became over-worn and ergo decided to give them a new makeover.  To see all the steps from Beginning to End go here.

Anastasiya Komarova - FORMS CLUTCHES

My senses of touch have heightened immensely! by peering over these come-hither clutches. For a split second there, I wanted to take a bite out of that tablet of chocolate or run my fingers over them! but alas my craving moved onto the other strange seductive pieces from the collection. The leather looks melt-able into cubes, chains, spheres and crosses resulting in a perfect distinctive finish. If you remember playing with play-dough, you could simply imagine Anastasiya Komarova, molding squishing away with play dough in her toddler years. The Russian designer’s intricate and delicate way of working with these textures demonstrates her artistic craftsmanship. These delightful pieces make you want to grab a clutch and hold on to it until the cows come home.

Spectacular Mapping in Liverpool - 100 YR Anniversary of Liverbird Building

16 Sept 2011

The city of Liverpool will always have a special place in my life, It was my home for 2 and a half years, back when I was a student at Uni. I use to live a stones away from the historical Liver Building and would have loved to have witnessed this spectacular mapping with my own eyes. I'm glad I have a brilliant excuse of frequently travelling to Liverpool...by hitting the road to Anfield and supporting Liverpool Football Club!

Mark Fast renowned for his cob web knit wear has teamed up with Aldo Shoes, exhibiting shades of sherbet through to the dresses. shoes and a way to the model's hair. The collection is limited to a woman who has either perfected her body to mannequin proportions or has the guts to not care about any bosomy bits on display. My highlight are the shoes. I hope you like the new makeover on this blog!? I went for a more minimal look, maybe I went a tad too far, but I can tinker and add more to it later, when I become more antsy and restless.

Zalando Shoe Review

7 Sept 2011

Have you heard of the online store Zalando? Well neither did I .. until a month ago when I received a certain email kindly offering the chance to pick an item from a store called Zalando. Shoes were numero uno on my list and Zalando has more than plenty of them, I was surprised to see they stock my fave Jeffrey Campbell and the likes of sigerson morrison, united nude, Surface to Air, Dr Martins etc but whom am I kidding I can't afford them this month and the month after, so I was content to see they stock high street ranges as well as the off-beat brands, which always seems to peek my interest. Ultimately the platform Sandals below were the stealer.

I like any online store that can provide a Free Delivery and Free Returns service and Zalando does so Kudos to them, so no matter what happens you only ever pay the amount that is stated on the website, I love this, as I like to try things on before I commit. My delivery took 4 days, I felt it is suffice since it's free postage. Zign Platform Sandals - brown

These were, one of the few platform styled heels I can muster to walk in, because I'm anything but ladylike whilst walking in agonizing shoes. I’ll take solace in the fact that balance is not my strong point.
