Maria Doychinova - In Comment Collection

SYMBOLS MOTIFS SOCIAL MOVEMENT
A boon of bijou from Austria turns up in my inbox in the form of Maria Doychinova, a Vienna based designer and Native Bulgarian, who has gained valuable skills working with Roland Mouret and Hussein Chalayan before founding her own label named DOYCHINOFF in 2006.

Maria's latest collection called In Comment, has quite a fascinating profound concept behind the unique clothing style, symbols themselves can provoke an ideology and concept, Maria saw hothere are many people wearing t-shirts with signs like RED ARMY and other various symbols and pondered whether the people wearing these symbols understood what the symbols meant, most people she encountered didn't pay particular attention to what type of symbols they were wearing and the ideology behind them. Some explained they wouldn't wear a specific type of symbol due to certain connotations.

Maria's collection is a venture into exploring the political power that symbols can play and to view how people react to political symbols and whether these symbols still have any power today. The collection, evokes a feeling of interplay of aesthetic sharply distinguished feminine outline style of straight lines and pleats infused with political emblems. My personal favourite is the first image of the crisp white feminine lined pleated Rilon Dress.

Maria expresses her ideas wholesome through this funkdafied enticing collection, her collection and future collections will surely please those whom appreciate artistic fashion operandi.

JOSE DURAN SPRING 2010
Jose Duran's Spring/Summer 2010 collection embodies an alloy of military futuristic valiant warrior which can both appreciate the nature of feminine beauty but will also wear metal arm cuff and lace up peep toes of armour, oozing of a fierce and feminine mien. The Dominican Republic born Jose Duran is one of the recognized new talent and has become one of the members of the new wave of the New York fashion. He has a wide range of inspirations, including his interest in the ways that homeless people dress, draping textiles to create additional layers.

LEVELUS SPIRIT LEVEL PERFUME

A perfume bottle and spirit level, something a cultivated carpenter could maybe not do without! Quite nifty for hanging up a straight levelled painting or a full length mirror before a night out, or for a spring home makeover. I'm a sucker for a two in one gadget, The bottle is designed for an emotional, strong and self-confident man who doesn’t waste his time.

Spray On Hair Squarrose

Hérissé Coulée of HAIR

Unusual, exciting and risky something that I am always drawn to, until I am at the hairdressers and being persuaded and talked out of the hair cut or colour I want. Many are naturally protective of their hair style length and colour, but its something I have never felt apprehensive about. If the hair cut or colour goes wrong or doesn't suit, I'll just don a few hats during the period, or fasten on a hair wig I have stored in my room.

When I do have an idea or style in mind, I am very focused to get the idea across to my hairdresser and have the desired look and outcome, so in my reckoning in that sense I am not completely care free about my hair, but if the outcome is not something I pleased with or cant really pull off, I feel I am only to blame for conjuring up an unconventional idea.

JOU JOU HYENA
Puma Tricolour JACKET, Urban Outfitter SKIRT, Striped Miss Sixty Knee Socks, Nine West SHOES Broadway NY

My sibling, Jou Jou Hyena, has been on a long hiatus as well! So I felt it was, long overdue to pull a few snaps of my muse. A sporty chic style for summer and spring with the green and white hoops of colour, doubled with a pair of knee high socks and a pair of ankle heels. Sportswear that's destined for anywhere except the gym. Simple to dress this up or down as an outfit, for most occasions.

Leila Shams Fall 2010

BAD LUCK.BLACK CATS.BROKEN MIRRORS
Do you think it's bad luck to walk under a ladder or it's good luck to find a four-leaf clover? If so, in my reckoning you may be kind of superstitious! I have a superstitious irrational habit of knocking on wood to avoid bad luck. I should try and knock it on the head, pardon the pun.

The designer Leila Shams says her inspiration for this collection was bad luck. "I wanted to challenge the idea of superstition," she writes. "We broke a mirror to create the prints and embellishments and I can tell you so far my luck has continued to be stellar." This collection is a chance to be rebellious, vanquish those superstitions, show them who's boss by adorning the unlucky themes of clothing black cats, snakes, and smoke.

Leila's Bad Luck collection has a lick ones lips full of glamorous, shimmery detailed owing to its sassy silhouettes, edgy prints providing a funkdafied, feminine and wearable collection. This collection's sure to spark good luck for Leila, and also her tasty SS10 collection line can be now purchased at Bunnyhug

When I'm on one of my regular blog reading forays, Bloglovin‘ has been a part of my daily jaunt. All though I'm pretty sure most of you know about this site, I recommend it for those of you who don't know of it already. I've also discovered so many new funkdafied blogs on here, and I guess for a lackadaisical hyena like me, its simpler than bookmarking all the tasty blogs to follow.
