Bora Aksu London Fashion Week SS 11

21 Sept 2010

CONTOUR OF ANT TRAILS

Insects are crawling everywhere, okay not everywhere, instead of marching across the counter tops, trails were left mostly on the leg wear, Ant hills and sugar trails, with a darker twist of the romantic vibe drapes and ruffles, adorning oversized messy buns. Tiny ants can carry 20 times their weight, and this collection can also certainly carry it's weight.

Ants and corsets- I wouldn't be surprised Bora Aksu was inspired by ants on a warm summer's day. But I'm sure many would have reached for the ant powder instead.

2NE1 Dara Leather Jacket ☺

LEATHER JACKET LUCENT LOVE
Riders dismount and join....the leather-jacket groups begin to gather.

My humble search for the perfect leather jacket.....could now be over! I'm not talking about your ordinary black fitted leather jacket. I'm talking about something a bit more different, just like the one above, I relish the printed coloured details along the lapel edge, sleeves and hem, zip detailing. It is worn by the funkdafied quirky Sandara, member of the K Pop group 2NE1. Cant help being drawn to Asia again especially Japan and Korea for some potent raiment eye candy.

Have a Great Weekend Ahead.....its been a long day today ♥

GOLUPTIOUS GOLD
The Mulleavy Sisters, have piqued my interest at New York Fashion Week SS 11, with the usage of leather pieces, textures of earth tones of whites mixed with golds, light browns and tans, merged with blues and dark plums, finding inspiration from their North California backyard, displaying the surburbia wood panelling and redwoods, radiated also to the footwear.

FOOTWEAR COLLECTION FOR PAYLESS

In all reality catwalk lines of the latest savour faire on show is mostly likely not affordable by the vast majority, and I'm certainly included in that category, however I enjoy picking ideas from catwalk shows and rummaging the vintage or high street stores for that similar recreation.

Per contra while they look pricey Christian Siriano's footwear collection below can be brought at Payless soon from the price range of $60. Now isn't that Acapulco Gold!?

Caged Sandals • Snakeskin Leather • Structural Heel

New York Fashion Week SS11 • Frank Tell • Raphael Young

Array of de-constructed draped asymmetric web knits, inspired by a wall inset in the Musée du quai Branly.

These wedge shoes were by Raphael Young for the Frank Tell collection, which brings together the pale mint moss and ivy looking knit dresses and leather trousers bringing some serious height. Supposedly the wedges are inspired by Star Trek. Graduate of Starfleet Academy.....

Rafael Nadal Career Grand Slam

Nadal wins U.S Open -Hurricane Rafa swept New York with gusty winds reaching 132 miles per hour.

I felt more alive than ever watching tennis last night, for those of you, who may or may not know, I've been following tennis since I was a young girl and have travelled to watch some tense thrilling live matches as a spectator and as a Rafa Nadal fan. I've always revelled in watching tennis, but I never really adamantly followed any one particular tennis player, until Nadal arrived onto the tennis arena. For this hyena tennis has never been the same since!

From watching Rafa win his first ever French Open to sealing a career grand slam has been an unbelievable odyssey. particularly when just last year after suffering a devastating injury, then having the courage to fight through the agony, the personal heartache, the despair, the pain to find his way back, when many others had written him off as done and dusted. Unbelievably proud!...for all of the work, all of the humble strides for improvement, for all the trials and pain he has been through to get here. Yet he's still the same humble endearing guy.

G Dragon Hair Attachment

HAIR ACCESSORY STRICTLY NOT ONLY FOR THE HEAD
In sync with the natural vibe of your body, every beat, every tone, every melody, the aforementioned naturally fits that of the muse named G Dragon, photographed below, he's the K-POP veteran band member of BIG BANG, known for inhabiting a free spirit when it comes to style, fashion and rhymes. And it would also seem he's donning a blonde hair braid neck piece! Where could I get my hands on this!?

This could be my first ideal D.I.Y project to undertake, if only I had the time patience and aptitude!.. oh well that was a short lived dream and idea. Moving On this hair piece necklace reminds me of a post I wrote before named Haversack of Accessories, when I was pondering on whether to buy a human hair zip necklace. I can confirm I did buy the hair zip necklace, but I came to conclusion it was more suited for those who didn't have black hair, it was just a hairy black hair overload, I wasn't feeling the look. So I gave it to a blonde haired friend of mine, who was able to fully pull off the look. And so it wasn't a bad idea overall. reassures

HAIR ATTACHMENT PART II- MANDY COON
The NY Fashion week SS 2011 is currently under-way, and what caught my eye from the Mandy Coon presentation was the exaggerated braided helmet hair, providing a Mary Quant mod expression 60's style. I've got to experiment with this one, I'll use my sister as a guinea pig, if she lets me!

PINGO HIATUS OVER
Hiatus Over! Okay so I've been slacking off with updating this blog, I was swamped with work and travel, I wish I could say I had a thrilling hiatus- but NO such thing. The warm months of England or shall I say a warm month went by breakneck speed, and visiting the high street today in the city of Leicester, it was obvious to see the season of autumn clothes are ripe for us to pick and ready to wear off the racks. I'm not sure whether I'm ready for the morning dewy lanes just yet, but hopefully it will be a September to remember. Since my Grandmother will be coming over to stay in England with us for only the second time. I don't have the words or the vocab to describe how precious my grandmother is, her youthful grace and legendary wisdom is just one of life's richest treasure's.
[My Amigo]
I don't think I've ever shared my fondness for animals of all kinds, even though August was a hectic month, what with my sister moving homes, barbecues, birthday's including my own, visits to the national parks and carnivals in between. But recalling back to this, what I most relished, was visiting the near by canals and stable a skips away from where I live and spending time with the horses grazing on the farm. The horse above shown in the first photo, looking as if I'm about to stroke it's eye (I promise no harm was done!) has got to be one of the most approachable charismatic horses I have ever met. Sadly I don't know it's name as of yet, so I just call it my Amigo (friend). Secretly I think this horse is only curious about my hat-attire haha whenever I come to visit. Makes me wonder whether I should take up lessons for horse riding, but I don't think I've ever had good poise and balance and sturdy thigh muscles. I think I'll just stick to updating this blog for now. Yeh I'll be glad to start posting again sharing my quirky eye candy and visiting some of my favourite blogs again.
